St Peter’s, Daylesford

Since November 2017 St Peter’s Daylesford is owned by St Peter’s, Daylesford Charitable Trust, which aims to restore and maintain the church as a place of worship, available for occasional services in accordance with the rites and traditions of the Church of England and the Roman Catholic Church.

It is a gem of a church, described as a “jewel box” and ” a unique example of a small Pearson church”. The present church was built for Harman Grisewood. The architect was John Loughborough Pearson, the renowned Gothic Revival architect, noted for meticulous attention to detail and use of top quality materials and artists. The church it replaced was commissioned in 1806 by Warren Hastings of Daylesford House first Governor General of India.

Currently it is only open for accompanied visits. Please call David Salter (Vicar) on 01608 652888 or by email david.w.salter@btinternet.com to arrange a mutually convenient time for your visit.
